Poverty in America Is Mainstream Response

After increasing levels of poverty in America, most Americans now don't worry about if they'll fall under poverty, but rather when they will fall. Luckily, the average time that people spend in poverty is short. We usually fall under poverty  after losing a job, cutting back the hours you work, divorce, or medical problems. I believe that poverty is becoming worse in America; our rate is approximately twice the European average. Simply because "poverty is mainstream." People believe that once you are in poverty, you have the chances of eventually growing out of it. But why not prevent it? Go to school, get a job with a decent wage, and maintain good health.

  1. I think it is a good idea to try and prevent poverty. If more people work harder it might decrease their chances of getting into poverty for an extensive amount of time. The other points you mentioned also make sense and I agree that poverty is getting worse in America. Many people are encountering problems that are causing them to lose money and fall under the standard.
